Limbo Dance meets theatre

Vishwakiran Nambi, Principal dancer, choreographed movement pieces for theater director Manish Gandhi’s play “Limbo”. The play premiered at the prestigious Prithvi Theater, Mumbai and consisted of seven set pieces bringing to vivid life the themes of the play.


Birmingham International Raw energy Festival 2008

Commissioned by Sampad and Dance exchange, UK, in a month long session, Mayuri Upadhya worked with different youth groups from West Midlands, encompassing a broad range of dance styles and ideas to choreograph the finale with 75 dancers. She also conceptualised a bollywood capsule  of Asian Indian artists which featured in the festival.


New Art Exchange photographic exhibition Nottingham

For the first time world-renowned Magnum photographer Raghu Rai has exhibited in a public gallery in the UK, with the focus for this exhibition ‘Invocation to India’ being: street photography. An odyssey of different dance forms of India, Colors of India is a package of different styles of dance. The production takes you through different states ofthe country and the dance styles specific to each state which are interwoven seamlessly to make a vibrant production.

Exploring the musical diversity, Nritarutya’s style of dancing meets different kinds of drums – Panchvadyam (Kerala), Pung Cholom (Manipur), Dollu Kunitha (Karanataka), Nagara (Rajasthan) , Kachchhi Dhol (Gujarat), Cymbals , Kartaal and  Damaru in this vibrant, energetic and interactive sequence.
